Hey, Friday!

Hey, hey Friday! This week has whizzed by us. I am looking forward to the weekend getting my house cleaned up and ready to celebrate my baby boy!

{one}
It's officially spring time!

I personally could use another  6 weeks of winter. I feel like we had 2 weeks of winter and we've been in Spring mode since The beginning of the year.
So here's to a long spring!!

{two}

Monday night we attempted to catch a lepruchan. She got away but left the kids some chocolate golden coins. That made for some happy hyper kiddos.

Aubrey's dance studio has had dress up days this month. This week is Future Self. Aubrey would like to be a doctor or veterinarian. I love it!  Aubrey's friend Abby dressed up as a mommy! So sweet, she was wearing her little baby doll and she had her hair pulled back in a "Mom Ponytail". It was darlin'. There was a teacher, construction worker and lots of little dancers.

We also picked up her recital costume and picked up her music. Exciting stuff!

While Aubrey is busy dancing away, the littles and myself hang out in the car. Austin is hiding behind me. "No pic-cha-s mama!"

Yesterday after dinner, the kids and I had a blast covering our sidewalk and driveway with chalk. I jumped in on the fun and also took some pictures of my little guy.

My little prince will be turning three. Excuse me while I cry about this.

Our little garden is coming along. Our peppers finally sprouted.  Our tomatoes are getting bigger and I need to thin them out.
I am working on a spot to plant these bad boys in the ground. I've been keeping track of the best part of the yard with the most sun. Listen to me, I sound like I'm becoming a gardner. I just might have a green thumb after all. I also have the the kids go out and talk to the plants almost daily. I'm thinking the plants really like it.

Do you have plans this weekend? Happy Friday friends!!

St. Patrick's Day 2015

One of the best things about being a mom is doing ridiculous stuff with/for your kids. As the kids were getting ready for bed on Monday night, I told the kids that were were going to see if we could trap a leprechaun. We made a plan, the kids ignored it and decorated the box like they wanted. It can be so hard to let go of how I want things done {even silly things like a trap} The kids had a blast!

In the morning they could not wait to come out and see if their invention had worked.

Look at that bedhead of Aubrey's -- YIKES!

It didn't work but that lucky little leprechaun left the kids some gold chocolate coins. As we ate our Lucky Charms for breakfast, Aubrey swears she saw a little something in our front yard.

After we finished up with school and lunch, I asked the kids if we could take some pictures. After a few grumbles, they agreed. I'm must say, these are some of my favorites!!

Aubrey looks so big in this one.

I realized I didn't get a shot of just him so before dinner, I was able to snag one of him.

If you want to peek at last years St. Patrick's Day here they are

We met up with a friend at the park. It was such a nice day outside. It wasn't too hot, it was pretty perfect. The kids all enjoyed soaring through the air.

Today is also Mr. Austin's due date! Little guy didn't make his appearance for a few more days!

How was your Saint Patty's day? How did you celebrate? I'd love to hear about it.

It's the little things: Gardening

I dream of being able to walk into our backyard and being able to pick some veggies and use those in our dinner. Snacking on some homegrown strawberries. Oh, but that is just can't happen with this brown thumb of mine. We tried to start a garden a couple years back and it didn't do too well.

I'm determined this year. It just so happens that we have a whole unit on seeds and plants coming up in school. Totally convenient, right?  Lots of learning for me and for the kids.

We picked out seeds.

Choosing seeds was interesting with Allyson because she is so picky. She wanted to grow bananas, and Cheerios. Since that wasn't happening we settled on growing her next pick, peas. In case you are wondering, she doesn't eat peas.

Aubrey is excited to grow watermelon.

We bought a little greenhouse. Poured water on the little pods and wait for them to expand. Then we took turns planting our seeds. Put the top and waited. Most the packets said they would begin to sprout in  7-21 days. Imagine our surprise when just a couple days later the peas sprouted up.

Here's a picture of the seedlings just 5 days after planting them. Crazy fast huh?

We are all super excited for this adventure. Do you have an tips or advice for us?

Saying goodbye

I can't help but feel that time is passing by wayy to quick. I feel like it was just yesterday that Austin was born and here we are just a few weeks until he turns THREE. Stop it!  The kids are all rooming in one room and they love it but space is tight in there. So one thing that couldn't stay in there was Allyson's glider.

I loved all of Allyson's nursery stuff. The bright colors, flowers, butterflies and the bits of blue we put in there. Picking out her fabrics for the nursery. Getting the glider covered in the fabric from Kathy at my Baby Shower. Oh, how I remember just sitting and rocking in glider, holding my precious Allyson belly and dreaming of the little girl she would be. Then, all the nights of troubled breastfeeding, long nights rocking away in the glider, and rocking her in the glider with baby #3 in my belly. Taking monthly pictures of Allyson in that glider once she was able to sit up on her own. Aubrey and Ally rocking away and then rocking Austin in that chair.

The sweet, sweet memories.

The glider has sat in our room for a few month now. It actually became that I would put stuff on, so it was covered in clothes most the time. Finally, I realized we weren't going to be using it. No more babies to rock in that chair. It was time to say goodbye to that chair and take one last picture of Miss Allyson Grace in her chair.

I'm a total sap and cried when we gave it away but I am happy that this new first time mom loves the fabric and will be keeping it on. She will be rocking her own little girl in that chair in just a few weeks.
