What did I learn from the Flats Challenge?

Finally getting around to posting about the last day of the challenge.

I was definitely happy to be able to use my 4.0s and my washer again!

The goal of the challenge was to bring awareness that there are babies out there that without clean diapers. Parents were reusing disposable diapers. This challenge helped show that there is another solution. Cloth diapers. Cloth diapering doesn't have to be expensive. You don't have to have a washer and dryer.

Is flats and hand washing doable?

Absolutely!!

Hand washing wasn't my favorite thing to do... kinda. I enjoyed the time I had to myself washing the diaper laundry. Dealing with poop. Poop is never fun or enjoyable but that's a part of parenting. I just  made sure I was spraying them really well.  Washing more often worked best for us. I am lucky enough to be at home and could wash whenever. If I worked, I would probably do laundry after the kids were in bed. If that meant staying up later and a 1/2 hour less of sleep so my kids could have clean diaper, I would definitely do it.

I feel so blessed to have clean diapers for Austin and Allyson. I have a washer and dryer. I even got the chance to explain to Aubrey about how lucky we are to have a washer/dryer.

So all in all this week was a success.
