Cloth Wipe Solution

When I first started cloth diapering Austin I quickly noticed it was silly to use cloth diapers and disposable wipes. I was throwing the diapers in one place and then the wipes in the trash. It made sense to use cloth wipes too. It was super easy. I just squirted some water on a wipe. Cleaned the little guy off and tossed it all in the diaper pail.

Then we introduced solids. I didn't have a diaper sprayer at the time (how did I ever live life without one??) so I was dunking and swishing my diapers. With Austin's poop being so yucky, I slowly switched back to disposable wipes.

I finally started to hate separating the wipes that needed to go in the trash again. Back to my good ole cloth wipes. Now Austin was eating more solid food and his poop wasn't the same. I didn't mind rinsing off the dirty wipes after I rinsed his dirty diapers. No problem.  But I started to feel like water was getting him clean. So I turned to the good ol' internet for cloth wipe solutions. Holy moly there are a lot! I think it's really cool that there are so many solutions out there to fit whatever need I might have for the kiddos.

This is what I use:

Coconut oil
tea tree oil
baby soap
Witch hazel
water

I pour some witch hazel in the jar. About 1/4 of the mason jar. Some drops of tea tree oil. About 2 Tbs of coconut oil. 2 squirts of baby soap and fill the rest with water. Mix it a bit and BAM! Wipe Solution. The best part for me is that we had everything we needed to make this, so I spent zero dollars!

I don't use this with every diaper change, mostly just the poops. We have 2 peri-bottles, one with just plain water and the other with this solution. Now there is no running out of diapers OR wipes. One less thing for this momma to worry about!
