26/30 {Popular notion}

What popular notion do you think the world has most wrong?

I think that we are forcing our children to grow up too quickly. I feel like when I'm out and about people ask about weaning , bottle to sippy cup, taking away his binky, is he walking and I mean the list just goes on and on. It's not just with Austin either! Is Allyson potty trained? How many words does she say? She's still in a crib?!? Pacis?? What?!? I really just feel like we push our little ones to do things before they are really ready. People are always telling me to just enjoy this time because it passes in no time. I'm really trying to treasure this time that I have with my kids while they are still little but I can't help but feel pressure to help them grow up faster. I'm just going to relax my thoughts. I know that Austin and Ally will eventually ditch the pacis. Allyson won't always be in a crib or diapers. I'm going to just enjoy these moments before they are gone.

Things you never thought you would say...

Before I had kids there was a list of things I wasn't going to do or say. Then I had kids and that seems to have gone right out the window. Sometimes when I'm talking to Aubrey I can hear myself saying these things that my mom said to me! When did I become my mother??

"Get your hands out of your pants!"
"We don't step on sister."
"Eat just a few more bites and then I will give you _____ "  I swore I was never going to bribe my kids. Apparently I never hung around kids, huh?
"We don't eat sand."
"Stop touching your butt."
"Use the spoon, we aren't dogs."
"NOOO don't lick that!"
"Go ask your dad" - I hated when my mom did this!
"Because I said so" - hated this one too.

Motherhood is definitely more interesting than I ever thought it would be!

Menu Plan Monday {3}

It's Monday and it was a busy one! We are having some major sharing issues in this house. Aubrey and Allyson seem to be arguing over toys all.the.time. Gah! If it's not the girls then it's Allyson pulling something out of Austin's hands and then he cries or Aubrey comes running in. It was pretty hard to sit down and plan out meals but I powered through! :)

Monday - Bean and cheese burritos

Thursday - Tortellini with veggies

Friday - Pizza Night

Saturday - Frittata

Sunday - Easter Dinner

I'm also making some yummy chocolate zucchini bread. All three kiddos approve! It's baking in the oven right now and it smells so yummy!

Well it's almost midnight. I better get this posted and put the bread away!

Night friends!

Prince Austin's 1st birthday party

I've been busy getting stuff ready for my little guy's royal party, for the last couple of weeks. You know staying up too late. Debaitng on if it was the right size or if it should be 1/4 inch smaller, like anyone would notice Heidi!

Party day was finally here!!

His throne

His monthly banner thingy.
This is probably my favorite thing I made.
Seeing how teensy tiny he was and now we are celebrating his one year. Crazy!

Opening his gifts
When we decided to open gift all of the kids were in the play room playing. We decided to just open gifts with out them. Such a brilliant idea!

Then his sisters took over!

Time for some sugar!

Little man liked his cupcake! He didn't even make much of a mess.
It was a lot fun celebrating my sweet boy! I still can't believe it's really been one year.
I can't wait to see his personality blossom. I can't wait for him to walk and talk. I'm really looking forward to what this next year brings!

71 days until Aubrey turns SIX, better keep the cricut out ;)

Happy 1st birthday Austin James!!

Austin, things started out pretty rough but we got through it. This year has been filled with ups and downs and lots of sleepless nights but you've managed to smiled through it all. That smile and that pout you have just melts my heart every time! I have loved watching you grow this year and cannot wait to see the little boy that you grow into. Mommy loves you so very much!!

Happy Birthday Bubba!!

St Patrick's Day

I'm so lucky
this is the best pic of the three of them.

His last "first" holiday. I'm sad. My boy will be one on Friday. ONE whole year. Gah!!

He was not happy about the hat.
You see that lip? It's going to get him out of a lot of trouble. It just kills me.

Funny toddler habits

My little ones are so silly! They are playing together more and more and it just warms my heart. They have the best time just laughing at each other. One thing they do that brings us both some serious laughs is their love for pacis. Allyson and Austin love their pacis!

We figured out Austin sleeps a lot better if he has a binky in each hand. I had bought glow in the dark pacis and sprinkled them in his crib but he still had trouble finding them. One night we put him to bed and put pacis in his hands and BAM he magically sleeps better. Maybe it's lucky but it's working for now!

Yes, she has 3 binkys in her mouth.
(we were getting her out of her carseat when we took the picture so that's why the chest clip is so low. I don't want to send anyone into a panic)
Allyson loves her pacis. We can't walk down the binky aisle at Target without her throwing a fit because she wants new ones. I know it's bad but it's cute at the same time. Oh and she calls hers a Ninny. We've started to talk about Ninny like it's a person. I do realize just how crazy I sound!

Oh and both kids do this flip with their pacis. Binky will be in their mouth and they will flip it aroound as if it was wrong in their mouth or something. It's too cute!

She knows the difference between her Austin's and she will not use his at all. We think Austin knows the difference but he likes hers. They are the same brand just different colors! If Ally leaves a paci on the floor it's like he has a sixth sense that goes off and he's drawn to it. He'll sit there with it in his mouth and yea... it's gross. He likes it. Ally hates it and we think it's funny.

Menu Plan Monday {2}

I was actually on the ball last night and planned my meal so I didn't have to rush to do it this morning. Dropped Aubrey off at school and started our busy morning. We had to make a stop at Costco, which is never quick.  We picked up some delish garlic bread and some other goddies. Then we rushed through Winco and made it out just in time to pick up Aubrey from school!

Here's what we having this week!

Monday: Tuscan pasta with basil cream
This is probably one of my favorite things to eat right now. I use rotini noodles instead of raviolis.

Tuesday: Penne bake

Wednesday: Zucchini lasagna

Thursday: Quesadillas

Friday: Pizza

Saturday: Spaghetti with Spinach

Sunday Grill cheese

What Mommy does for fun

Life with 3 kids is busy. There is always someone that needs something or something that needs to be done. Even after the kids are tucked in bed, I still find myself doing things around the house.

I do try to make time for myself.

I enjoying being crafty. Sewing, Cricutting and just being crafty are some of my most favorite things to do. If I get the chance to hang out with some great friends while doing that it's even better. Since having Austin though it seems like I've had less time to do those thing. {if only he would have slept better!} I enjoy taking pictures of my kidlets. I really enjoyed reading but haven't done that in a while.

Once a month a group of women from my MOPS group get together to play Bunco to snack on yummy food, and enjoy some uninterrupted adult conversation. I look forward to this time each month. It usually comes at just the right time.

What do you do for fun?

Sunday Randoms

I started this in the wee hours of Sunday & it's 1 PM Monday & I'm finally finishing. Oh the joys of parenthood.

Here's my random thoughts for these last few days.

I put the child training bible together & oh boy, do I love it!!
I love using scripture in my discipline with Aubrey. Maybe I'll do a post on this soon.

I've been working with Allyson to put her hands on my car while I get Austin out of the car. There isn't always a cart around for me to grab & I remembered this little trick from Parenting class. Usually I need to remind her & keep on reminding her. Earlier this week we walked over to Austin's side of the car and little miss said 'hands on car' & kept her little hands there the whole time I unbuckled Austin. So proud of her!

I've started to have some issues eating meats (it's grossing me out!) so I've been searching Pinterest for veggie meal & this one came up. So delish! I'll have to link it when I'm on my computer.

Here's another made in the crockpot.

Both came out pretty yummy!

Took the littlest Paulsen to the doctor. He's had a cough, fever & runny nose for awhile & started being bothered when we touch his ear. Turns out little guy is just fine. Just a virus. Get well bud!

We've been enjoying the sunny days.

This is my favorite picture of the girls!

I joined a gym! Need to lose the baby weight. It's about time, almost a year later *sniff sniff*

Bubbs birthday supplies came! I'm so excited to celebrate my little guy but so sad he won't be my little baby. Ok, he'll always be my little baby, but you know.

Friday we had a picnic at the park.

These three just make me so happy. AJ woke up at 5:30AM for the day, too early!!!

Ally is doing crazy things. She's such a daredevil. Climbing up stuff. Going down crazy tall slides. Wanting to climb crazy things. Where is my little bitty? She's like a kid, kid.

I've really struggle this last year with Austin being my last baby. At the park Friday watching them all play together in my heart it felt perfect. There wasn't an ache like in times past. My three perfect babies playing and laughing at the park. Life is good!
