10 o'clock rambles

1. I'm so excited for this weekend even though we have no plans.

2. I'm an awful mom. I realized I dont have any pictures up of Austin up in the house. Its not bc of lack of pictures. Going to change that!!

3. Conrad is watching a scary movie & I'm waaaayyyy to chicken to watch. I used to live scary movies. Just listening to it creeps me out.

4. I've been cloth diapering Austin for a few months now & I freakin love it. I never ever seriously imagined myself loving it. His bottom just looks so cute in them.

5. We have cable again after 2 years of going without. Oh man it's easy to get sucked into watching something stupid.

6. We just finished up week 4 of school & Aubrey loves it. Loves her teacher, her new friends, homework & just loves going. It's such a comfort knowing she's happy there. Happy away from mama. I hope that she always has a love for learning.

7. I can't believe tomorrow is September 1st. That means Allyson's birthday is just 2 months away.

8. I can't wait to light yummy fall scented candles & have the windows open & enjoying a nice fall breeze.

9. I need to cut out some caffeine to see if that's what causing Austin to wake up so often. I don't want to!!!

10. I can't wait fit the new season of New Girl to start. I love that show. It's hilarious!!

Well Conrad's movie is still on. Time for a nice shower & the bed time for this momma!

Likes: I love watching him grow. Seeing who this guy is turning into. Seeing the ways he's like Conrad, like me, and like his sisters. So fun!
Dislikes: Lack of sleep!!

Thanks Angie for doing this survey and letting me copy it. I love having all of this in one place and not having to think of it every month.

2u2 Tuesday

How old are they?

A. Austin -  5  months
B. Allyson - 21 months

What activities are going on this week? Conrad is still working late. Conrad didn't feel good Sunday and Monday. Austin got a stuffy nose and cough Saturday and is all congested still. Allyson is a snotty nose mess. There is a PTA meeting this week that I'm looking forward to going to.

What challenges are we dealing with this week?

Any milestones reached this week?

A. Austin -  He's sitting up and then slooowwly leans. He's also  pretty close pushing himself up to a crawling position.

B. Allyson - Said "I Love You" before bedtime... best sound little phase ever!!

How are you feeling about having 2u2 at this point?

Likes: Austin LOVES Allyson. He just looks at her (and Aubrey) with such love. I love how much they all love each other.

Dislikes: These last couple days, who am I kidding weeks, I've been completely exhausted.

Someone thinks she's still the baby!

On our walk to school Austin started to sit in the stroller like a big boy

Aubrey is collecting Box Tops for Education for her school. She has already turned in 60 box tops.

Allyson loves to get out of the stroller while we wait in front of Aubrey's classroom.

Sitting up!!

Thanks again Angie for the survey set up. It helps me remember all the little things!

2u2 Tuesday

How old are they?

A. Austin - 21 weeks and 4 days
B. Allyson - 21 months

What activities are going on this week? Conrad is working a temporary schedule so he's not home until 7:30. I got grocery shopping done yesterday. Tuesday possibly going to a friends house to learn to crochet. I really want to crochet Austin some cute beanies for fall/winter. Aubrey has back to school night this week. Pizza on Friday!

What challenges are we dealing with this week? Austin's sleep issues. *yawn*

Any milestones reached this week?

A. Austin -  He's a rolling machine!! He's all over the floor now.

B. Allyson - Using her "words" more and more.

How are you feeling about having 2u2 at this point?

Likes: I like when Allyson sits on the couch and wants to hold him for 2.5 seconds. I can just see how when he's older they will be great little playmates.

Dislikes: TMI both my kids are pooping machines. I'm constantly changing poop. I knew that having two kids in diapers that this would happen. Give Mommy a break kids.

Week 3

Aubrey is obsessed with needing a bandaid. Well I guess she scratched herself at school and some how convinced her teacher that she needed a bandaid. She came home and was so excited and asked me to take pictures of her first accident at school. She's so my kid. ::snort:: take pictures of it. So we had some fun :)

Monday Meal Plan {1}

I'm soooo proud of myself. Last night I figured out our dinners for the week and I went to the grocery store on SUNDAY. I usually procrastinate and do it Monday afternoon with three cranky kids. Not last night though. It was just Austin and I and it was amazing. I felt like I could actually think without passing out goldfish and snacks to keep Allyson and Aubrey quiet.

It's been somewhat difficult for me to plan meals the last 2 weeks because Conrad is working a different schedule. He's getting off later and so it's just the girls and I at dinner time. I really can't wait for fall/winter to be here. I want to use my crock pot to make soups and stews. I just can't eat that stuff unless it's cooler out.

Here's what we are having this week for dinner.

Monday
Grill Cheese and Tomato Soup

Tuesday
Homemade Mac N Cheese and a side of veggies

Wednesday

Trying out a new recipe a few friends have pinned so we'll see how it turns out.

Thursday - Back to School Night
Baked Potatoes Made in the Crockpot (I love making them this way!)

Friday
Pizza

Saturday
Chicken Salad and veggies

Sunday
Chicken alfredo with broccoli

So... What's on your menu this week?

Second week of school

Aubrey had a great second week of school. She came home with new songs they sang. Books they read. She even brought home book orders. Remember those? I loved ordering books and then getting them a few weeks later. I can't wait to turn in an order and get some new books for Aubrey. She told me that on Thursday they even went to computer class! She is just having a blast. She just wishes that it wasn't half day. Shoot, I wish it wasn't half day either!!

After school Aubrey comes home eats lunch, plays for a little bit and then it's nap time. Boy does she fall asleep quickly now!!

Today she brought home her homework folder and they have NINE pages to do return by next Friday. Aubrey was thrilled to death when she heard that she had homework. We'll see if she's still excited about homework in a few years.

On Wednesday or Thursday she asked if she could walk up to school by herself. I knew this day would  be here sooner or later. I agreed to not walk her to her class. I'm not the only kinder parent that still does. So we walked to school passing the crossing guards making our way to the bus drop off. Little Aubrey was like ok Mom I'll see you after school. Hugged us bye and was off. My heart sank because she's this little independent girl. Walking to class without me. She looked so teeny tiny walking up with the other kids. She walked through the gates and didn't look back. Such a big girl. I am happy to think though that Conrad and I have raised such an independent little girl.

Picking her up is probably one of my favorite things to do. As the kids, I can't bring myself to call her a student yet, come out of the class and line up to wait for parents Aubrey always has a HUGE smile and is waving at us. Allyson is in the stroller saying Sissy Sissy! Aubrey gets dismissed and will walk quickly to us since they can't run. She wraps her arms around me. I love it. She gives Austin and Allyson hugs too. Then she will just talk about her day and what her teacher said and her friends did. Just nonstop and I really enjoy listening to everything.

I still can't believe she's in kindergarten.

2u2 Tuesday

How old are they?

A. Austin - 4 months 3 weeks and 2 day
B. Allyson - 21 months

What activities are going on this week? Grocery shopping.. I still need to make a list and find to go. Bunco and pizza on Friday!

What challenges are we dealing with this week? Austin got his 4 month shots yesterday which really has him messed up. Poor guy is super clingy  and will only sleep on or right next to me. Last night I slept on the air mattress with him and you would have thought I was going to get more sleep than I have in the past few nights, right? Nope. Austin wanted to be snuggled so close and I was afraid of him getting to warm so I slept without a blanket or sheet on me and well I can't sleep without a blanket or a sheet on me. He did only wake up one time to eat which was a nice little break.

Any milestones reached this week?

A. Austin -  He's been pushing his chest off the ground when he's on his belly. He's also using his legs more to scoot but he's not scooting around be he moves just a few inches ... if that made any sense. Crawling may be in our very near future.

B. Allyson - I'm seeing a teeny tiny light at the end of the picky eating tunnel. She now will eat fish sticks, of all things. She's eating more than just bananas and yogurt. She can also listen and obey directions. We ask her to  put away or get her shoes and she will. She helps clean up.  My *favorite* thing she does? When I say ok let's go get Sissy she will run and get her shoes and sit by the door. Then when I open the door she will hop up into her spot in the stroller and the whole way to school say Sissy? Sissy? and then when she sees Aubrey the biggest smiles comes over her face SISSY!! My heart just melts!!

How are you feeling about having 2u2 at this point?

Likes: I love the little ways that Allyson helps out. In the car if Austin is whining/crying she will "Shh" him. If we are at home she will shove his paci in his mouth. She plays with him and puts more toys in his face and he just sits there like a good sport and takes it with a toothless grin. I love it. She will sit on the couch and pat her chest and that mean that she wants to hold him. She holds him for a hot second before she shoves him off but she wants him. I love that she's doing so well with him.

Dislikes: I have my days. Lately it's been tough. The lack of sleep that Austin is giving me is making it hard during the day. I wish I could just nap after dropping off Aubrey but I can't because my little hurricane is running around the house. What about napping while she naps? You better believe I nap when she does but usually Austin is just waking up as Allyson goes down. No matter how hard I try I can't get them on the same schedule.

Passed out one the walk home from school

Allyson wants another cracker

Aubrey's First Day of Kindergarten

Tuesday was the first day of school. Aubrey and I both have counted down to this day. She has been soooo excited for weeks. I've been a mix of emotions. Some days I was happy at the thought of her getting out of the house. Other days sad at the thought of her being gone during the morning. I was sad at the the things I would miss out on in her little life. The funny and cute things she says. Anyway I wasn't sure how  I would be on Tuesday morning.

Monday night we read a new book The Night Before Kindergarten, super duper cute!!

My mom also sent Aubrey a card in the mail wishing her good luck. Boy did Nannie do a good job picking out a Hello Kitty card.

Tuesday morning came and Aubrey was so ready!!

She is IN LOVE with her darn backpack. We came out to take pictures and and she wanted to hold it instead of wear it on her back.

Sitting at her table

Time to go pick up sister from kindergarten!

She had a great time. She wouldn't tell me what she did. I had to pry it out of her which was different. She kept saying ummm I don't remember! Throughout the afternoon and evening she would say more little things about her day.

Family

Sometimes I forget just how lucky I am.

I have an amazing husband that goes to work to provide for us. He loves me so much. He is a wonderful daddy to our kids.

I'm lucky enough to stay at home with my kids. I get to watch them grow into amazing little people. I saw proof of this this week while dropping Aubrey off at Kindergarten. She's such a happy, smart, confident, and independent girl. Allyson is just a ball of cuteness & she knows it. Austin is my little cuddle bug & growing into a a big boy.
All my kids are healthy. I am healthy & Conrad is too.

I need to remember this when Mister Austin is up at all hours of the night wanting to play & I'm running on no sleep. When Allyson is throwing another fit on the floor or when Aubrey is being sassy. I am blessed. Blessed to be their Mommy.

Blessed to have my family.

B. Allyson - 21 months

What activities are going on this week? Grocery shopping,  Target trip and Miss Aubrey started school today!!! Costco run on Friday.  Just hanging around the rest of the week.

What challenges are we dealing with this week? Just sleep issues with Austin and picky eating with Ally. It can only get better from here.

Any milestones reached this week?

A. Austin -  Austin can roll back to belly and belly to back. He did both in the same day! Hello mobile baby.

B. Allyson - Nothing major

How are you feeling about having 2u2 at this point?

Likes: He is such a joy to be around. He is such a smiley little guy. I love watching him grow into his personality. It's the same with Allyson. I love seeing the little toddler that she is.

Dislikes: Allyson is growing more and more into a little 2 year old with her little temper tantrums.

Yum!

I was folding laundry and he was playing with his little toy and then the next thing I know he's snuggling and asleep with his little puppy blanket.

Miss thing thinks that this is how a little lady sits.

On our way to pick up Sissy from school. Look at Austin, such a big boy sitting in the stroller!!

Afternoon adventures at the Mall with Aubrey

I can't believe today is Friday and that Aubrey is starting school on Tuesday. This is just insane guys. I have a kindergartner. She's getting too big.

We went to the mall to Aubrey's haircut for free at JC Pennys. During the month of August they are offering free haircuts for school age kids K-6. Score!! I decided to make a fun little afternoon of this. My mom watched Allyson while Tess and I took Aubrey & Austin to the mall.

Here  Aubrey is before her hair cut.

After
Isn't she just adorable?!?

We went to Bath and Body Works and got some of the little hand sanitizers to put on Aubrey's backpack. She was so funny picking out scents. She probably smelled each one and said Mom, Mom  you gotta smell this one. Every time! She picked out some really yummy scents.

We had to make a pit stop to nurse Austin and we walked past the gum and I thought this would make her day. Yea she had more fun putting the quarter in and taking the gum out and chewing it. I think she had it in her mouth for 2.5 seconds before asking if she could spit it out.

Usually whenever we go to the mall Aubrey asks if we could go to the Disney Store. This time she saw the Hello Kitty Store and asked if we could go there. Of course!! She's been into Hello Kitty for awhile. She's seen it in store and we've just never bought her anything HK not for any real reason. When we did our school shopping I let her buy the Hello Kitty backpack and she's been carrying that thing all over the house. So she was in heaven in the store. We bought a few pencils to take to school. She couldn't wait to get home and sharpen them.

Mommy and her baby :)

Make a wish!

Such a good boy the whole time

As we were leaving she begged to ride the stupid Clifford dog. I really hate paying for the kids to ride this dumb things but she really wanted to and I was trying to make it a special afternoon so I paid the .75 cent. Umm I thought these were a quarter??

She had a really great time and so did I. It was a lot of fun just to be around her without worrying about Allyson. AJ was a piece of cake. He just was happy to sit in the stroller and stare at everything.

I asked her what he favorite part of the afternoon was and she said All of it Mom!!

Success!!
