33 weeks down, 7 weeks to go!!

How far along: 33 weeks
Next appointment: Tuesday
Any new aches/pains:I feel like the baby has dropped. There is a lot of pressure and suddenly I feel like I can breathe easier.
Sleep: It's getting worse. I am falling asleep fast and have 3-4 hours of good sleep, then I wake up to go pee and it's downhill from there.
Best moment this week:  Allyson came into my bedroom and said Mom. It was the sweetest. She's not much of a talker and only really says mama when she's crying.
Movement: ALL of the time. This little baby is most active in the evening. Holy smokes I think he's trying to escape out my side.
Labor signs: Few contractions here and there but nothing regular or lasting.
Food cravings: Tacos!
What I miss: Sleeping.

How big is baby: Pineapple

Average size: 17 inches, 4 pounds.
Arsenal's drink of the week--Pineapple Express!

This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a cone head-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood. Your baby is still gaining weight (about half a pound a week), and he could grow up to another full inch this week. With that much baby inside your uterus, your amniotic-fluid level has maxed out, which explains why some of his pokes and kicks feel pretty sharp these days. (There's less fluid to cushion the blows.) Antibodies are being passed from you to your little one as he continues to develop his own fetal immune system, which will come in handy once he's outside the womb and fending off all sorts of germs.

Panicking ... just a little bit

I'm 32 1/2 weeks and I'm starting to freak out a little bit about the baby coming. I know, I have 8 more weeks until my due date. Aubrey was 5 days late and Allyson was induced on her due date with no signs of coming on her own. So let's face it this little one will be late unless I get induced again, so I have plenty of time but I'm really feeling the need to get lists and stuff ready for the hospital/baby's arrival.

Make a list of stuff for the hospital for Mommy, Conrad and baby.

I need to get a diaper bag. Actually I want to make one. We'll see if I actually do it.

I want to get the girls Big Sister shirts, get a little brother/sister onesie. I can't seem to find ones that I like that go together.

Speaking of clothes I need to get some boy clothes and wash some girly clothes. I'm not one for the unisex clothes.

We need to figure out/ask someone to watch the girlies.
I feel like I need to make a list of things for the girls and for whoever is going to be caring for them.

I guess that's really it. Ahhh it feels so much better just getting that out!!

3 hour glucose test results ...

Yesterday I had my 32 week appointment. I'm already going in every two weeks. This is crazy to me, our little bundle of joy will be here before we know it.

I posted last time that I failed my 1 hour glucose test. 140 was the cut off and I measured 165 :( so when they had me do the 3 hour test I went in assuming the worst. Well at my appointment the DR gave me the news

I PASSED!!!!
I wasn't even borderline. She said that my numbers were normal. Can you believe it?? I certainly can't!! When I told Conrad, he was even in shock. Such a relief. No finger poking, no remembering to check my sugar after a meal, and packing snacks and watching the clock. I'm so thrilled.

The rest of the appointment was good, besides the long wait in the patient room. I had an afternoon appointment and I hate those because it seems to take soo much longer. Our little bundle is measuring right on track and seems to be laying transverse. This kid moves all the time he better move his little head down soon so Mommy doesn't start freaking out. I know there is time but come on kiddo!!

2 weeks ago at my appointment the OB was a little surprised that I hadn't gained any weight since my last appointment. I was a little, ok a lot surprised. So with Christmas, New Years and all the family stuff we did while Gigi was here I gained not a single pound. But little one was measuring right where he should be so that was good. Well I was anxious to hop on the scale (that's a first right) because I was for sure that I went 5 weeks without any gain it was bound to catch up to me right?? Nope again no weight gain. They aren't worried since baby is moving around just fine and he's measuring at 32 weeks, right where he needs to be. Other than that everything looks great!

32 weeks

How far along: 32 weeks
Next appointment: Feb 7th - Doing the 2 week visits now.
Any new aches/pains: Just soreness in my back
Maternity clothes: Of course!
Sleep: I fall asleep really quickly and get about 4-5 good hours of sleep. After that it's kinda iffy and no matter what I wake up at 6:30 and feel as though I could wake up instead I sleep for another 30 minutes.
Best moment this week:
Movement: LOTS and lots.
Food cravings: Pancakes sound delish!
Belly button: It's flat
Signs of Labor: Occasional braxton hicks
What I’m looking forward to this week: Conrad being home this weekend and NO football games. Although I'm excited that the Patriots will be in the Super Bowl! Wahooooo!!!

How big is baby: Large Jicama
Average size: 16.7 inches, 3.75 pounds.

By now, your baby is taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, he'll gain a third to half of his birth weight during the next 7 weeks as he fattens up for survival outside the womb. He now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). His skin is becoming soft and smooth as he plumps up in preparation for birth.  Your baby is actually back to a curled-up position (you try standing up in those cramped quarters!). At 32 weeks pregnant, you're likely feeling tapping and squirming instead of your baby's signature rocking and rolling. That's because, while comfy, your baby is a bit tight for exercise space right now. Your baby has also probably settled into the head-down, bottoms-up position in your pelvis in preparation for birth. That's because the fetus's head fits better at the bottom of your inverted, pear-shaped uterus. It also makes it easier during childbirth if your baby comes out head first. Fewer than five percent of babies prefer the bottom-down (or breech) position by full-term. Don't worry if your baby hasn't assumed the head-down position yet. There's still a good chance he will flip head-side-down before birth — even in the tight confines of your uterus.

A yummy after dinner snack!

Wednesday

My little girl cheesin' it up!

Thursday

My sweet girls at Target

Friday

ugh I failed my one hour glucose test and Friday I had to go in to do the three hour test. I pricked my finger before I went in to see what my fasting number was ... 93 ... 3 points over what it should be. I don't think I'm going to pass so I'm just hoping that my numbers come out where I just will need to control it with diet and exercise and not insulin. Ugh the drink was so gross it made me sick this time. I had to go lay down so I didn't throw up.

Saturday

Tonight we read another one of Conrad's old books, Bambi.

A walk and Laundry

Yesterday while I was doing what felt like 95 loads of laundry, Aubrey got some of the old books that Conrad gave her. The Clown Arounds books are some of her favorite. They are just so silly!

Allyson likes to "help" with laundry.

Putting them on her head is her favorite.

While one of the last loads was in the dryer we took a little walk in the chilly weather. Miss Allyson doesn't like wearing gloves, hat or even a hood...so we knew it wouldn't be a very long walk.

At the end of our street there are some dogs and Allyson had the most fun barking at the dogs.

Teeny tiny feet on our walk

Miss Aubrey rode her scooter while rockin' her sunglasses and beanie from Uncle Cody.

After her bath tonight I put Aubrey's hair up in a towel and she thought it was the greatest thing ever.
Ahh the little things in life right?

Well I'm off to try and get some sleep.

Our reward system

We've tried a couple different things with Aubrey to encourage good behavior. We had one of those charts that you get a sticker at the end of the day if you obey, clean up your room etc.. That wasn't really working for us because it was hard to have a whole day where she would obey, clean up every single mess, or always be nice to her sister. So how do you give a sticker for most of the day? You can't because she would remember her "episode"... She was getting frustrated and so was I.

I turned to the internet and found ideas for marble jars. Great idea, but with a 1 year old walking around the house and putting anything and everything in her mouth, we decided that marbles wouldn't really work for us. So we replaced the marbles with sticks. On each stick it says something positive. Double bonus. Aubrey loves knowing what the stick says.

Sticks from Hobby Lobby $2 for 100 sticks.

We keep the sticks in a jar in the kitchen. I also have some in my purse and in the car to reward good behavior on the go!

They are right next to my nifty little mail organizer :)

Aubrey keeps her sticks in her room in a Toy Story bucket from her birthday party.

It has taken us awhile to figure out how many sticks she has to collect before getting a reward. We started out saying 15 ... too many. For the first couple days she was ending the day with zero or one. So we have lowered it to 10... still too many for now. She's in this really sassy mood lately. I think it's been the craziness of the holidays. We are at to 5 sticks gets a reward and that seems to be working for us right now eventually we are going to bump that number up.

She gets sticks for good behaviors and sticks are taken away for bad behavior. It's really helped her see that he actions have consequences. Having a tangible way to see her behavior in a good or bad way has helped both of us.

Claiming her reward: Slush from Sonic during Happy Hour

We wanted to have rewards that were fun something that she'd enjoy and hopefully want to continue her good behavior but didn't want to have to spend a ton of money on.

Some rewards include:

Slush from Sonic
Yogurt from Yogurt Mill
Popcorn and Redbox movie
Mommy and Aubrey trip
Daddy and Aubrey trip

Aubrey loves to get sticks and read the little praise on the stick. I love having a 4 1/2 year old that is getting better with her words she chooses and the choices she makes. Win for Aubrey and win for Mommy!

31 weeks down and 9 more to go!

I can't believe that my due date is in 9 weeks! Squeeeee!!! I'm so ready, excited, scared, nervous, unprepared and any other emotion you can imagine.

How far along: 31 weeks
Next appointment: Jan 24. I'm doing the every other week appointment already.
Any new aches/pains:  I think I'm at the point of uncomfortable no matter how I'm sitting or laying, how on earth will I last another 9 weeks?? :) Baby likes to hang out on the right side, just like Miss Allyson did. So I constantly have a hand or foot in my back (it looks like baby is trying to escape from my side.)
Maternity clothes: Yep.
Sleep: Well the crappy sleep has returned. It doesn't help that my sweet little Allyson has decided she doesn't need naps. Umm yea you do and so does mommy sweetheart. So I'm not a happy camper.
Best moment this week: Conrad received his diploma in the mail yesterday! So awesome after years of schooling he's finished!! Go babe!!
Movement: ALL.THE.TIME
Food cravings: Yesterday and today it was Baja Fish tacos from El Pollo Loco ... OH they are crazy good!!
Belly button: It's popped out. You can see it sometime through my shirts :(
What I miss:  I sleep horrible. If it's not my need to pee just when I get comfy, I'm too hot/cold, little baby thinks it time to practice his/her newest gymnastic moves... I guess I'm already preparing myself for the nights with a newborn.
What I’m looking forward to this week: Mom's Night out Friday night!

January 15, 2012 31 weeks

How big is baby:
 Four navel oranges
Average size: 16 inches, 3.3 pounds.

31-oranges
Your baby is quickly approaching his birth length — though he's got to pack on another three to five pounds before D-day. Also developing at an impressive clip: your baby's brain connections (he's got to make trillions of them!). He's now processing information, tracking light, and perceiving signals from all five senses. He's also putting in longer stretches of sleep, which is why you're probably noticing more defined patterns of wakefulness (and movement) and rest (when he’s pretty still). He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

Mommy, Aubrey and baby #3

365+1

I started the 365+1 photo challenge and I've been doing great at taking the pictures.
The uploading to blogger ... not so much. I made a page for the pictures that way I didn't clog up people's feeds with these pictures but it's been a pain for some reason for me to upload the pictures on that page. They get all out of order and messed up and I've only done 8 on there, I can't imagine doing 100's of pictures so I'm going to be posting here. :)

Sickness

Poor Ally is sick.

I hate when my either of my girls are sick.

Allyson has been teething for a while now. Stupid Molars just come through already!! We noticed she was coughing more at night so Thursday it was off to the pediatrician. Everything looked good with her except she had a little fluid in her ear which was probably from the cold that she had. The pedi said if this was his kid he wouldn't treat her with any meds yet and see how she does in a few days, since she hasn't had a fever or anything. He did give us a prescription just in case things got worse. Well of course today she wakes up burning hot, super nasty runny nose. Didn't want to eat anything only wanted her bottle.

Off to Walgreens we went to fill that prescription! I was told it was only going to be about 15 minutes ... ok I can deal with that ... we ended up waiting for close to 40 minutes. Ughh!!

Ally did enjoy sitting in the waiting area playing on the chair. That lasted about 5 minutes.

Then we had to go Target. I seriously needed 3 things! It was the worst. Allyson didn't want to sit in the cart. She was screaming like I was killing her! So me and my big almost 30 week pregnant self is trying to hold her while she wiggles and squirms and push Aubrey in the shopping cart.

Aubrey enjoying the crazy Target trip. Her reward a blue icee!

Not a happy camper!

She did enjoy sitting on my lap watching Baby Einstein. 29 minutes of no crying/whining. I *think* I might have even her Allyson laugh.

tonight was pizza night!! Gigi, Kathy, Cody, Auntie Candice, and Katiya came over and we hung out, ate pizza, played a game of Taboo, and enjoyed a yummy ice cream cake!

Ally thinking she is HOT Stuff sitting in sister's chair!

Princess Aubrey being her smiley goofy self!!

I some how managed to take down most of the Christmas decorations. Our house is sooo empty and boring. I cleaned the playroom, living room, and kitchen and mopped, well swiffered but hey my floor is clean! You can call me Super Mom.  Gosh I was thinking about what the heck am I going to do when this baby comes. I barely survived today with the two that I have... let's add a newborn into the mix.

I then realized though I wouldn't have done all that I did today. So the Christmas stayed up another day. We wouldn't have gone to Target. I just I will just need to get used to doing things with three kids ... yikes!

Marching band fun

For Christmas Aubrey got a drum and like a million other instruments that make a ton of noise, thank Amma.  She usually plays with them in her room because the sound drives me bonkers, great mom huh? This afternoon she asked if she and Allyson could play in the playroom with it. Why not?!

They had so much fun banging and shaking everything. I had a great time taking pictures so it was win win.

This is Allyson's favorite spot. She wasn't allowed on the fireplace but now that she's walking there is no stopping her from getting on there.

Watching her sissy shake the maraca

Ally likes to eat the drumstick rather than play with it.

Aubrey was trying to show her how to do it.

Ally thought he hand worked much better

I really enjoy afternoons with these two!!
