Dentist Appointment

Aubrey had her check up today with the dentist. She was really excited

She did a great job. They took x-rays, took an actual pic of one of her teeth and then put a sealant on her teeth. The assistant said she did awesome. She has a tooth that is shaped funny so it showed up on the x-ray as a cavity. But they looked and it's just shaped funny so they took a pic and made a note of it. I told Conrad and he said that he has one that's the same way and so does his mom. I guess she has Paulsen teeth.

After the appointment little Miss got a balloon, got a bag of goodies and got to pick out a toy. She picked out a cute little pink coin purse and was thrilled! Aubrey also asked if Allyson could have a toy and she picked out a cute little black Halloween kitty for sister (although Aubrey forgets and thinks it's hers)

They made her next appointment for 6 months from now so like the end of March. She asked if a certain date worked (I can't remember which date) and I said as long as it's not a Thursday it'll work. She scheduled the appointment and we left. I was driving home and looking at the card wondering why this date doesn't seem like it's going to work out. It took me about an hour to realize that DUH at the end of March I'm going to have a new little bundle of joy and I probably won't be the one taking Aubrey to her appointment. Gotta love my pregnancy brain!

The little things in life

Yesterday morning I made myself a yummy [decaf] peppermint mocha and topped it off with some whip cream. Oh it was yummy!! As soon as I started squeezing the whip cream out of the container Aubrey came running in. She asked if I could make her a chocolate milk with whoop cream, her favorite! How can I say no??

I think I take too many pictures because Aubrey said take a picture of me and my milk. Because every kid says that right?

See how happy this makes her?

Happy first day of Autumn!
Let's hope some fall-like weather makes it's way here soon.

Fall Wreath

Our front door is really ugly and boring. So while spending some time on Pintrest I came across this cute simple fabric wreath. I have like 3 of them pinned. I think they are so cute and as a bonus they seemed to be so easy.

 Different Fabrics
wire hanger

I bought 1/2 yard of  5 different fabrics (I got waaayy to much- I'm probably going to make another for a friend)

Next I had to cut the fabrics into 1x 6 inch strips.
I bent the wire hanger into a circle-ish shape.

Then get some sort of pattern going and tie the strips around the hanger.

And Voila!
It was seriously that easy!!

I think that it needs some sort of bow or something else. I just need to figure out what.
And yes it's hanging on my door already. Conrad thinks I'm crazy because if you are here in CA you know the weather is anything but fall. I'm hoping maybe Mother Nature will see this and bring fall ish weather our way.

13 weeks

Good bye first trimester, hello 2nd tri!!!

How far along: 13 weeks
Next appointment: Beginning of Oct
Any new aches/pains: I'm think things are looking up. I'm having a lot more good days than bad. I haven't had to take Zofran in a while. YAY!
Maternity clothes: Yep, shirts.
Sleep: Well the crappy sleep has returned. It doesn't help that my sweet little Allyson has decided she doesn't need naps. Umm yea you do and so does mommy sweetheart. So I'm not a happy camper.
Best moment this week: Just feeling much better after all the swelling and the pain from the tooth. (Yes I'm a baby. I suck at dealing with pain!)
Movement: Just some twitches, again not too sure. I can't wait to feel the baby for sure.
Food cravings: An icee - and lucky me, I'm drinking one now. A blue one ... mmmm!!!
Belly button: It looks normal
What I miss: Sleep
What I’m looking forward to this week:

Baby this week:
She's about 2.9 inches long and weighs about .81 ounces, and -- proportion-wise -- her head's now about 1/3 the size of her body (remember? It used to be bigger!). She's forming vocal cords and teeth. (For all of that adorable screaming she'll be doing). Even though she's teeny tiny, she already has fingerprints. Her intestines are moving from the umbilical cord to their more permanent place, in her tummy.

12 weeks

How far along: 12 weeks
Next appointment: Beginning of Oct
Any new aches/pains: I'm dealing with the pain from my wisdom tooth with the pain meds and I don't think it's helping the nausea. I'm getting sick every morning.
Maternity clothes: Yep, shirts.
Sleep: I was only about to sleep for about 8 hours at night and I would take a nap or two during the day. Sleep is getting a little bit better.
Best moment this week: I got to hear the little one's heartbeat. I know I already said it but it's the best sound ever!
Movement: I've felt a little twitch here and there but nothing for sure.
Food cravings: As of today I'm hungry for food but it really hurts to eat. So it's pretty much soups for me.
Belly button: It looks normal
What I miss: Feeling good and eating food.
What I’m looking forward to this week: Feeling better!!

Baby is the size of a plum
The average fetus at 12 weeks is about 2.1 inches long and .49 ounces.

  • Most of her critical systems are fully formed!

  • She's about to enter the growth and maturation stage, in which her organs and tissues will grow and develop rapidly.

  • She's now developing her reflexes -- if you poke her body, she'll likely move.

  • She's opening and closing her fingers and curling her toes, too.

  • Her brain is developing fast!

What a HORRIBLE last 2 days

Thursday was a day that I'd like to forget. Ok I'm being a little dramatic.

Conrad had called me at about noon and asked me if I could bring him some lunch because that morning I had apparently forgotten to give him a large part of his lunch. I told him no problem. I start driving to get his food and all of a sudden I get this horrible pain in my mouth. By the time I'm at Del Taco I'm in tears and on the phone with the dentist trying to make an appointment to be seen asap. I picked up Conrad and Aubrey food (I was in too much pain to eat). Dropped his food off, had called my MIL to drop off the girls, but being the awesome lady that she is. She met me at the dentist office.

They numbed my mouth before doing an x-ray and oh my gosh I felt a million times better. It looked like a part of my wisdom tooth had broken off and that was causing the pain. Lucky me I got to have a wisdom tooth removed and I got to see an oral surgeon to do it because the root was right there in the nerve that helps your facial movement and the dentist didn't feel comfortable removing it. Luckily I got referred to someone that could remove it that same day. Down the street I drove, numb face and all. Oh and as a double bonus I couldn't be sedated for them to remove it, I had to get more shots in my mouth and wait like 45 minutes to make sure it was good and numb.

I felt (and looked) like I had literally been smacked in the side of my face with a frying pan. I got some pain medicine and drove home. Conrad was on his way to school, it was his first class and he had to be there. Kathy thankfully kept the girls until it was bath and bedtime and she came over bathed & put Aubrey to bed. Conrad had gotten out of class early and helped me put Allyson to bed (she missed her momma so much!) I am so thankful for Kathy's help. She seriously dropped everything to help me, and I can't tell her thank you enough. Conrad has been a wonderful help too.

I didn't sleep that well last night because of the swelling and the pain. Kathy saved the day again and took the girls until Conrad came home from work. I was able to get some sleep throughout the day. Because of the medicine and/or being pregnant I've gotten sick a few time. I'm starving. I can't wait to eat food!! I miss my bagels :)
