randomness

So here is just some random things/thoughts that aren't really post worthy but I'm throwing them out there just because.

1. I hate it when Aubrey fights going to bed. She will make up every excuse in the world. Or just stop listening, or just cry. I hate leaving the room when she's like that.

2. Conrad starts school back up this week. He will be finished in December YAY!! But he's gone 2 whole days. He works in the morning and then school. Just kinda stinks sometimes.

3. Praying for Kate - Little Kate is ready for her transplant TONIGHT! Yay!! Her donor sounds like an amazing guy. Makes me smile to her that there are still good people in this world. Will you pray for them tonight?

4. I'm sick of feeling sick and tired. I'm ready for some 2nd trimester energy. On a good note, I've lost three pounds :)

5. I wish I had didn't have to have a budget for Allyson's birthday party. (Which I can't believe it coming up in 2 months!!) So many cute ideas. It would be very easy to go overboard. Stupid Pintrest!

6. Speaking of Pintrest ... I hate looking there. So many cute ideas for everything and anything. A TON of delicious recipes that have me drooling and wanting to cook/bake. Some of quotes or sayings that people post crack me up, and Conrad looks at me like I'm nuts.

I think that's about it.

The best sound ever

I had my doctors appointment today. What an ordeal that was. Ugh! Kathy came over to watch the girls for a few hours. I was going go to my DRs appointment and have an hour to myself. Well I guess babies had other plans.
I didn't end up being called into the back room until 55 minutes after my appointment time. It seemed like an eternity ... just sitting there... waiting ... the NP came in and apologized for the crazy wait time. She said one of the DRs got called in to deliver a baby and after that they've just been playing catch up. Well she made up for it because she was able to find my little sweet pea's heartbeat. BEST.SOUND.EVER!
Baby is measuring right where is should be.

I ended up leaving the appointment with paperwork for more blood work. Fun!

11 weeks

How far along: 11 weeks
Next appointment: This week
Any new aches/pains: Just the same old nausea and fatigue.
Maternity clothes: Yep, shirts.
Sleep:.It seems that at night I can only sleep for 8 hours, no matter when I go to bed. Or how tired. Eight stupid hours.
Best moment this week: I had an amazing day with Conrad yesterday. We did nothing fancy or special. It was the first Saturday in forever that C didn't have homework to do. We sat on the couch watching Ugly Betty. The girls went to bed and we ate Candy and chips, joked around. It was seriously the best!!
Movement: I've felt a little twitch. I'm sure it's me just hoping to feel the baby.
Food cravings: I've figured out that it's really just anything with bad carbs. Bagels, bread and chips (especially Pringles).
Belly button: It looks normal
What I miss: Feeling good and eating food.
What I’m looking forward to this week: Hearing the baby's heartbeat!

And look we are growing a baby garden too. Here's me with my little lime

What's the baby up to this week?

  • You can't see it, but she's moving fluidly and gracefully in there.
  • Her skin is see-through, but she's on her way to looking more like a baby.
  • Her fingers and toes aren't webbed anymore.
  • Tooth buds, hair follicles and nail beds are forming.

10 weeks down only 30 to go!

How far along: 10 weeks
Next appointment: At the end of the month
Any new aches/pains: Feeling pretty sick most of the time. The nausea is a pretty bad and I have some days that are just horrible. I'm so tired too. It could be from having a 4 year old and a 9 month old who is all over the place now.
Maternity clothes: Wearing some shirts because I have them.
Sleep: Sleeping isn't too bad. Once I'm able to fall asleep it's good. I've been so tired though that I'm taking a nap or a two a day.
Best moment this week: Getting lots and lots of rest through out the day - thanks to a certain family member for helping me out.
Movement: Too early. I can't wait to feel the baby move.
Food cravings: Jalapeno bagels with cream cheese - YUM!! All I really want to eat is breads. But earlier in the week I wanted a full Thanksgiving meal. Mashed potatoes & gravy ... turkey ... oh and pumpkin pie with a big ol' scoop of whip cream. I settled for Boston Market.
Belly button: It looks normal
What I miss: Feeling good and eating food.
What I’m looking forward to this week: Hopefully being able to hear the heartbeat at my next appointment.

And the little baby ...

Our baby at 10 weeks
  • Baby has working arm joints, and her cartilage and bones are forming.
  • Her vital organs are fully developed and they're starting to function.
  • Her fingernails and hair are starting to appear, too.
  • Plus, she's swallowing and kicking in there. (Can you believe it?!)

Getting brave

My baby Bug is just getting too big too fast. She has just started to pull up on the furniture in the last few days. It's been like 4 days and she thinks she's a pro. (she kinda is) She can pull up on something and walk her feet so she's closer to the couch. Ally  She's started to do it one handed. She's so confident like, I got this! When she falls on her butt she pulls herself right back up. Today my little dare devil is taking one hand off the couch and then the other. She she some balance, not much and on her butt she falls but she is determined to do it.

Showing off while playing with her kitchen

Look at all my teeth! I have 6 already and possibly one or two more making their way through.

Show Us Your Life - Back to School Traditions

Linking up with Kelly's Korner today for Show Us your Life.

Aubrey isn't in school yet so we haven't started anything BUT I do plan on doing a few things. I want to do something fun the last day of summer or sometime that last week. Dessert for dinner? Going out for a special Mommy/Daughter dinner date? Daddy/daughter? I don't know but I'd like to do something fun like that. When my sisters were little they used to like doing a fashion show of their new school clothes. Maybe have a fun night doing that or something.

First Day of school. Pictures of course!!! I saw these on Pintrest, might be a cute idea. I've seen some friends that take their child's picture next to the school sign and you can see how they've grown since kindergarten. Fun fun!!

Crazy to think that Aubs will be in kindergarten next year. Wow!

Update to Allyson's sleeping

My wonderful mother in law took her a few weeks ago and Ally slept wonderfully over there. Her first night home she slept straight through the night... amazing!! Well it didn't last long and she was getting up only once a night, which I would totally take over the 2-3 times. The next night slept through the night. She went a couple nights waking up once at various times and back to bed. I'm happy to say (and scared to actually type out - don't want to jinx it) She's been back to sleeping 11-12 hours. Hallelujah! She's taking 2 naps. It's seriously amazing. My mother in law is the Baby Whisperer!!

4 + 1 = 5

Do everything

Steven Curtis Chapman - Do Everything Lyrics
You’re picking up toys on the living room floor
for the 15th time today
Matching up socks and sweeping up lost
Cheerios that got away
You put a baby on your hip and color on your lips
and head out the door
And while I may not know you I bet I know you
Wonder sometimes does it matter at all
We’ll let me remind you it all matters just as long as you
Do everything you do to the glory of the One who made you
Cause He made you to do
Every little thing that you do to bring a smile to His face
And tell the story of grace
With every move that you make
And every little thing you do
I really like this song. There are times when cleaning up the playroom, changing diapers, laundry and grocery shopping (i could go on and on) it gets to me. I feel like the lyric in the song. Does it matter? Don't get me wrong, I love staying at home and being with my girls and being a stay at home mom & wife. But sometimes it's like really? Does this load of laundry matter? Does vacuuming the living room matter? The song reminds me God sees all those little things. So tomorrow while I'm cleaning my bathroom with my bad attitude I'm going to remember that God sees me and it matters to Him, he trusted me with these kids and to be the woman of the house, and that matters to me.

Why do I blog?

Kelly from Kelly's Korner asked for blogging tips. I don't have any. I'm a horrible at blogger. I still haven't posted my 365 pics. Ugh! I've taken pictures if that counts. Anywho,  I blog so I can remember this time in my life. The things that my girls do, Aubrey says, the things God tells me, and just life stuff. I really wish I was better about it. I feel like I could name excuse after excuse after excuse but it doesn't really matter. I just need to work on making it more of a priority so I  can have so much more of our life documented.

Why do you blog?
