Night time around here

My sweet little Allyson used to be a good night time sleeper and good at taking her naps... then teething started and I think that's when it when downhill.

She used to sleep for 11-12 hours a night. It was wonderful! I would just turn her sound machine on and put her in bed with 3 binkies and she would be out. She was taking 2-3 naps a day. Same thing, sound machine, binkies and OUT!  Then those darn teeth started popping up. She's up to 6 teeth. I think she's getting 2 more bottom teeth but won't let me see inside her mouth. She's just a mess.  For the past 6-7 weeks she's been waking up two to three times a nap. Like clock work. 11 o'clock. 2 o'clock and 5 o'clock. Serious Allyson? I'm worn out. I wake up tired. When she goes to bed at 7:30 I'm too awake to sleep. At 10 I'm finally ready for bed but end up staying up until she wakes up. It's not working anymore. We tried to let her cry it out the other night. (which is what we did a few months ago) and it did not work. She cried for an hour, on and off. If Conrad goes in there she just looks around for me. So it's up to me.

Last night I needed a break. My mother in law took her so I could get a good nights sleep. Oh and it was amazing!! I slept from 10-8. It was so nice to wake up and be ready to start the day. How did Ally do at Amma's house? Wonderful!! She slept 11 hours straight, didn't make a peep. Kathy went to check on her multiple times. Sound asleep. What the heck?? I'm praying that Ally thinks she's still at Amma's and sleeps tonight. So far so good, it's 11:14 and it's quiet here. I'm sure that I'm jinxing this by even typing this but we'll see.

So if you are awake say a little prayer for Allyson and myself, that we both get a good nights sleep.

The end of breast feeding ...

I made it almost nine whole months of nursing Allyson. Ally all of a sudden is so uninterested in it.  I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I'm a little sad to be giving it up. I really planned on nursing her for a year and I'm just 3 months short of that. I feel like I worked so hard to make breast feeding work. I went to the LC 2-3 a week. I pumped for my supply and ate oatmeal for days to increase it. I know I should be happy I've made it this long. 9 months, it's something to be proud of. It just sucks that I'm not the one choosing to end it ... she is.

Camping Trip

Every summer we pack up the car and go camping and I hate it. I hate the dirt, the bugs, not being able to shower, and sleeping in a tent. I don't like it but I do it for my wonderful husband. He really enjoys it so I suck it up and put on a semi-happy face and go.

This year however I  didn't go. I had my little Allybug who is a teething mess and would not have slept well up there. We decided it was best that I stay home with my thing (who now has 6 teeth!!). So Friday the troops packed up and headed up camping without Allyson & me. This was the first time in 7 years I didn't go camping. It was a little weird to be missing out.

I heard that they had a great time and God was definitely watching over all of them this weekend.

Here are some pictures from this weekend a

♥ I sure missed these two ♥

I haven't forgot about the 365 I just haven't uploaded them from my camera.

Sewing Machine from God

It's really funny the way God orchestrates things. Things that don't seem to make sense suddenly make sense a little ways down the road. . .

Awhile back I posted about wanting a new sewing machine. I thought nothing about it. Just me wishing for a new machine. Well fast forward to a few days ago. Someone contacted me and said that God put it on their heart to give me a start on my sewing machine fund. How crazy is that? I love seeing the way God uses little things.

Day 4

Last Day

My little goof ball at the Faire

Aubrey had a BLAST!!

At the Faire today she had so much fun playing games and getting candy and little animal/safari toys. She would show me what she won after every game. They had bounce houses and she LOVED that.

It took some time for her to actually tell me what she would learn about. Thank goodness they sent home a paper. We went over her memory verse  and she had it down on day one.  Made this momma proud.

At the end of the day the teacher reviewed what they went over this week. She would ask questions and little Miss Aubrey had the answer every time. The teacher asked Aubrey if they could let someone else answer a question. lol.

While Aubrey was at camp I got to enjoy time with Allyson and nap time. So very nice. But I really missed that little girl while she was there. It made me think about having to send her off to kindergarden next year. Next year!! I have one more year with my little girl and then she's a big kid and off to school. I can't even wrap my head around having a kindergardener.

That's enough of that... I'm off to bed.

Show us Your Life - Side dishes

I'm linking up with Kelly's Korner today and showing off my favorite summer recipe... baked beans! In the summer it isn't a family get together unless someone brings these baked beans.

Spicy Smokey Sweet Bakes Beans

1/4 pound bacon in 1/2 inches pieces
1/2 finely chopped yellow onion
2 t minced garlic
1/4 t red pepper flakes
1 can (28 ounces) Bush's original baked beans (liquid drained)
1/4 C ketchup (add more tsps if needed)
2 t Worcestershire sauce
1/2 t chipotle chili pepper
salt and pepper to taste

1. Cook bacon over medium heat until crispy (8-10 minutes) stirring occasionally.
2. Add onions cook under tender.
3. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, cook about 30 seconds. Stirring occasionally. Add baked beans, ketchup, worcestershire and chipotle chili pepper.
4. Bring to simmer, stirring occasionally. Cook on low for 15 minutes. Stir occasionally.
5. Salt and pepper to taste.

Enjoy!

Fourth of July

We had such a great day yesterday!! Aubrey has been so excited for the 4th of July since the firework stands started to go up! I had asked Aubrey if she knew why we celebrated the fourth of the July. She without hesitating said because of Jesus!!! Perfect answer Aub!! :)

We started the day off bright and early downtown at the parade. This was the first year Conrad was able to join us but my mommy had to work. We got a great spot. It was shaded when we got there and pretty much stayed that way so the heat wasn't too bad. Allyson stayed at Kathy's house. Ally doesn't do well with loud noises like the motorcycles, honking horns and all the other fun noises the parade brings. It worked out great though because she ended up taking a great nap and was able to be up for a large part of the afternoon.

We had a great time of hanging out and playing at Kathy's. The girls hung out outside in the heat while the little girls played in the kiddy pool. We had a yummy dinner and dessert then the wait from dinner to dark with three wound up/tired/excited little girl = long!!

The fireworks were so much fun to watch. Aubrey loved it and even got to help daddy light some. Thankfully Allyson was asleep and STAYED asleep throughout all the loud noises. I can't wait until next year to see how she will like it.

For some reason I can't move my pictures around so here are some from the parade
Me & my love

Waiting for the parade to start

cheese!!!
Some of my favs from the parade.
They were giving out fans and 20% off ... heck yes!

this guy cracked me up!! he was in the tub scrubbin' his feet

Church in the Park

I loved seeing the cardboard signs that various people were holding about how this is helped and changed their lives.

Before we moved we used to drive by this every Sunday after church. There is a yellow sign that is put up and it says something like Meals provided by God. One morning Aubrey said that it is really neat that God is at the park today! I love the things she says!!

Yep, that's me. Running through the stopped parade to go pee.
Thanks babe for taking a picture. I wanted to remember this moment always.

I love the 1/2 car thing. Aubrey thought it was hilarious!

running for candy

Hope you all had  a great Fourth of July!

God Bless America!

Eight months

My sweet Allybug,
You are getting too big way too fast. You have 4 teeth and I'm pretty sure you have one more making it's way through. You roll every where. You can push up on your hands and almost your knees. But you push your body up, turn and pivot  and roll where you want to go. You are fast too!

You love to peek a boo, pat a cake, deep and wide and Ride the horsey is your favorite. You love hanging upside. Aubrey is still the funniest person you have ever met with Daddy as a close second.

Taking your pictures every month in getting harder and harder, it's alright though because each month you get cuter and cuter!! This month your month-day (?) was on Fourth of July. .. so you had an adorable dress made by Mommy

Mmm beads
