Graduation

I went to my sister's 8th grade graduation yesterday.

I cannot believe that she going to be a freshman.
I remember when she was little like Allyson. A little big girl like Aubrey

and now this??!?!

Where does time go???

I am so proud of her.

This last year my sister and I have grown closer and closer. I love her!

Sisterly love

Loves watching her big sissy

I love seeing the love between my girls. Aubrey can always make Allyson smile and seeing Allyson can brighten Aubrey's day.  Ally loves to watch Aubrey run, scream and play. Although I don't want my baby to get bigger, I can't wait until the two of them can actually play together, it'll {hopefully}be really sweet

It came! It finally made it!!

FINALLY, after a bunch of issues. The white noise machine made it.

Last night was the first night with it and it didn't make a difference at all. In fact last night was she was up at 2, 5:15 and 6. Not at all like our usual night. I blame that on teething though. Which by the way, sucks!

She's napping right now and has been asleep for awhile, through all of her sister's talking, stomping, and fit throwing ... oh yes we have a almost four (who thinks she's almost fourteen, with the way she's acting) with quite an attitude.

Lord, give me strength.

Our weekend

I am loving my hubby's new work schedule. He is working 8-5 Monday through Friday. I love it!! Before his schedule was so random. He would get a weekend off every six weeks. It made our weekends horrible because we would try to hurry up and do as much as we could in 48 hours. It sucked, it was stressful.

Now we have nice relaxing weekends. Today we did a lot of nothing around the house because we could. After dinner the four of us went on a walk. It was so nice!!

my sweets

Don't you just want to squeeze her??

Show Us Your Life - Favorite Main Course Recipe

Today over at Kelly's Korner the "Show us your Life" topic is favorite main course recipes. This couldn't have come at a more perfect time. I am stuck in a food rut. Nothing really sounds good expect food from Chiptole ... I never get sick of food from there!

This is a recipe from Conrad's Mom
It's super easy & yummy. I've made this ahead of time and it's yummy!! It's a nice dish to bring to someone that's had a baby or just in need of a good home cooked meal :)

Chicken Enchiladas

Filling:
1C shredded cheese
1C diced chicken
1/2 C green onions

Sauce:
1/2 C sour cream
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1/2 tsp salt
1 small can diced green chiles

Spread sauce bottom of the pan. Roll filling in tortillas and fold seam side down.

Naptime

Gosh how I love  this time of day!! Yesterday the stars were lined up perfectly because I was lucky enough to have BOTH girls napping at the same time!! Two hours of freedom. What did I do?? NOTHING and it was amazing!!

Aubrey is with my MIL today so it's just Allybug and I. She's napping right now and she put herself to sleep. It's great. Seriously, why didn't I do this sooner?? What in the world was I afraid of??

Unfortunately today I need to get moving and get cleaning. Oh the joys of being at home. But I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Here is my bug with her new "iphone". I don't know who likes it more, her or Aubrey.

BIG Changes for Allyson

Allyson's first tooth popped through on the 9th, yay!! This whole teething thing came out of no where. On Mother's Day she was a snot nose, drooling, fussy little mess. We made it through the day and night. Monday she was doing better, the tylenol help. That afternoon tooth #1 made it's appearance. She doesn't really let me look in her mouth. It looks like the one next to it may be coming through soon, but I can't really get a good look.

We've also finally moved Allyson into her crib in her room. It only took six and half months. Now we are just working getting her naps to be longer and falling asleep on her own. Oh how I wish I would have done this a looong time ago. I've figured out that Ally sleeps a lot better when it's darker and there is noise. She sleeps soooo long at Kathy's house and there is a clock that's ticking away. I laid her down for a nap while at Candice's last week and it was amazing what she slept through. So after lots of debating we decided to get a white noise machine. We went with the same one Candice has. She said she's had it forever, it still works great... SOLD!

This bad boy should be here Thursday! I ♥ Amazon!

Show Us Your Life - Homeschooling

Homeschooling isn't something that I plan on doing. I don't feel I have the patience to teach my girls. I really wouldn't know where to start.

Funny though today I met with some of my MOPS mommas and someone had asked if I planned on putting Aubrey in preschool. Right now preschool isn't in our budget. I'd love to send her. I know she'd have a great time and do well. She even asks me when she's going to go. Any who, the answer for now is no on preschool. Well this friend was telling me about a free homeschool curriculum that she did with her daughter who is four, and she said she LOVED it.

I came home and looked on the website. I think this is something that I'm going to do with Aubrey this next year. I think it's something that Aubrey and I will both benefit from. There is a program for 3 year olds and 4 year old.

Just in the short time that I've been going over it, I think we are going to really enjoy. It has weekly bible verses, character traits, letters, numbers and information. YES something that will work great in our home.

If you homeschool what are some tips that you can share with me? Likes or dislikes?

teething & squash

It sucks!!

Who knew that one little tooth could throw things off so much. Ally has fallen asleep at seven & woke up by 8:00-8:30 & stays up ten or eleven. She is usually down for the night at that time. She's woken up for a middle of the night feeding too. What the heck? We haven't done that in awhile.

She's been a snotty nose, clingy, whiney, miserable little girl. Poor thing. The good news is that her the tooth popped through. Bad news? It looks like she's getting the other bottom tooth too! Poor Mommy!!

I finally fed Allyson squash. I wasn't sure how she would do since she was teething but thought we'd give it a go. She actually ate more that I thought she would.

I think it was a success. She didn't HATE it but she wasn't exactly excited for more bites so we'll see how it goes tomorrow night. I'm hoping and praying that we have a much better night tonight and a better day tomorrow!

Sippy Cup

We gave Allyson a sippy cup with some water in it. She was pretty good with it. She knew it needed to go in her mouth. She did that just fine. Now she just needs to figure out how to tip her head back and she will be a happy camper!

6 months

I seriously cannot believe how fast time is FLYING. She's a half a year old already?? Six months have gone by?? I'm planning Aubrey's party and pretty soon it will be time to plan a first birthday for Miss Bug.

Taking pictures each more is becoming more and more of a challenge. All she wants to do is eat her doll.

6 months old and just perfect
We will be going to Allyson's 6 month appoint at the beginning of May (when she will be 7 months) Our appointments are off because she was sick with RSV, waaaayyy back when she was little ... Here are her stats:

Rice cereal for Allyson

We gave Allybug rice cereal tonight. This isn't her first time. I cheated and gave it to her a couple days ago because I was impatient and couldn't wait for Conrad to be home. The time before she didn't really eat much at all. I'm talking just a teeny tiny not even a spoonful. But she HATED it. Made the worst faces, even moved her head so I couldn't put the spoon in her mouth. So, being the wonderful mother that I am, brought cereal for everyone to see.

AND of course took pictures of it. (Uncle Cody was taking pictures )

First bite ... yuck!

Uncle Cody ...

Another bite

eww!!

Uncle Cody .. help me!

Then she started to lean toward the spoon.

Not too bad ...

Ew wait ... yea it's bad.

she probably took a few more bites and then was done. She made some of the best faces. My sweet little Allybug. I'm doing to try again tomorrow at lunch time.
