Show Us You Life - Tell us about your church

Today on Kelly's Korner was Show Us Your Life and wants to hear about our churches.

We attend Cross Point Community Church. I really really enjoy going there. I love drinking my pepsi & eating my donut in the Edge, listening to the edge-y music. I loved the relaxed atmosphere. The pastors there are awesome. I love the feeling at the church. It's really come as you are. You don't need to have to fancy clothes to come here. Jesus loves us just as we are.

I love all of the wonderful friends I've made there. I started going to MOPS there not knowing anyone ... walked in there and was greeted by some of the nicest ladies. It was exactly what I needed. I needed to meet women that were in the same stage of life as me. I love all you lovely ladies!!

Discipline

discipline |ˈdisəplin|
noun
1 the practice of training people to obey rules or a code of behavior, using punishment to correct disobedience : a lack of proper parental and school discipline.

I wish that when I became a Mom someone told me how to discipline Aubrey. Or told me that I was going to need to start at a young age. I would start to train her as a young age . . . I'm talking 6 months. I never really thought that a baby could but it's all about learning the right way from the beginning right? So there are so many ways to parent our children which one is right for us?

My SIL took a parenting class at their church last year and really liked it. The toddler verison of this class started and I thought hey why not. C and I really like. It's On Becoming Toddlerwise by Gary Ezzo. I knew Aubrey was just a little out of the age range but hey we would have to start somewhere and start small? I can't tell you how great it's been. The simplest things. We are expecting Aubrey to obey us the first time we ask some. No more counting. Let me tell you how hard it was to stop this. It had become so automatic. Aubrey 1,2,3 .. No more counting in our house. Aubrey has caught on to this too. She knows she needs to do what C or I ask of her the first time. She doesn't have an extra 3 seconds. There is so much more. It's so simple and it makes so much sense.

At the beginning of March the BabyWise version of the class started. We thought we better start now with Allyson. Teaching Allyson self-control. I know what you might be thinking ... a baby self control? But really you are practicing with them at this young age and then when they become a toddler or whatever age and you expect them to exercise self control and obey you, they will. We are getting Allyson on a schedule (once I get Ally on more of a schedule then we will be working on Aubrey).

I know that this isn't the right choice for everyone but we believe that it is a good fit for our family. I'll keep you posted on how things go with this.

So here are some pictures of my crazy kid!

Aubrey just makes me laugh all the time. She things that she says and does ... I just want to freeze time, keep her this age, and bottle up some of that energy so I can use it! Lord knows I need it.

Ally is getting so big too. Time is going by way way to fast. ugh I can't believe she'll be 5 months old pretty soon. 5 months really?! She is just the cutest little thing EVER!! She is always happy and smiling. We are borrowing Candice's jumper and this little girl loves it. She figured out how to bounce and she's a bouncing machine!!

Project ME

A little over a year ago Conrad & I were in the market for a new digital camera. The camera we had just a point and shoot camera. We had so many nice pictures with the camera. We also had some that we not so nice. A blurry Aubrey blowing out candles, blurry Aubrey jumping, and my favorite was the picture of the nothing because Aubrey had ran by so fast and the camera couldn't capture it. Yea those are some of the best! We looked around and came across this bad boy!

I love her!!

We have had her for a while now. I'm not shooting in automatic all the time, just a lot of the time. . . I think it's time to change that. I shoot in a mode that I have no idea what it is but I like the way the pictures turn out. I've noticed that sometime they don't turn out great and sometimes they do ... I'd like to know why.

Kathi Lipp recently came to our MOPS group and spoke about her new book The Me Project. She challenged us to write a list of things that we'd like to do in life. I struggled to write anything down. I know there was plenty of things I would like to do, I didn't want to write them down ... like admitting I wanted to accomplish these things. If I put them out there I'd have to do them sometime. I am comfortable where I am at. . . at least until now.

I'd really like to learn how to take great pictures.
I really enjoy taking pictures. I love love love capturing Allyson & Aubrey playing. Or Aubrey's train stamp from the library. Allyson's toothless smile. LOVE it!

I realize that this post is all over the place but I guess what I'm trying to get at ... I'm going to learn how to take Ah-mazing pictures!!

Allyson loves

... to chew on her hands
... to "talk" with sissy
... bath time. She kicks her little feet, smacks the water with her hands. She is
always full of smiles at bath time.
... is tolerating tummy time more and more
... is grabbing objects and they go straight into her mouth
... to pull the binky out of her mouth and then whine about it.
... loves when her Daddy comes home and playing with him
...loves to cuddle with Mommy ♥

Day 22: Favorite City

I would have to say that Lake Tahoe is my favorite city.

I have a lot of good memories there with Conrad. That's where we began our journey as husband and wife. We spent our five year anniversary in Tahoe. I just love it there!

Day 19: Something you miss

I miss the beach. The smell of the ocean. The sand between my toes. The warm sun shining on me. Walking on the beach just me and my husband.

the shopping!!

I cannot wait for summer. I can't wait to do these things with my girls.

Our first trip to the beach

Wiggle Worms

We haven't been to Wiggle Worms at the library in so long. Aubrey used to love it! Singing songs, wiggling and listening to stories what kid wouldn't love it?? It was time to go back!

Allyson ready for her first trip to the library!
When we got there Allyson was happy in her stroller, so I left her in there and sat on the floor with Aubrey and we sang a few songs. We clapped our hands, and that's when Allyson freaked out.

She was tired + loud clapping = Allyson crying.

I took her out of the stroller and set her on my lap and she loved it! Loved the songs, all of the kids, and of course her silly sister. After it's over they have all the kids line up and they can get a stamp on their hands.

Train Stamp!
It's a great little program that the library does. They try to teach kids good audience skills, so they also ask parents not to take pictures until it's over. It's too bad. Aubrey looked really cute dancing around. Afterwards we checked out some books.

Franklin her favorite.

And Allyson??

OUT!
Tomorrow is the preschool story time. We are going to give that a try and see which program Aubrey does better with and then go weekly.
