17 weeks

Another weeks down! Whoo-hoo!! Getting close to the half way point.

How far along: 17 weeks

Next appointment: June 14th

Any new aches/pains: Nothing new to complain about.

Gender: Can't wait to find out. I've been thinking that Little One was a boy. .. this week I've really been craving cookies and sweets and according to the wives tales that's what you crave with little girls . So I'm torn again.

Sleep: Amazingly I've been sleeping pretty well. I've been waking up on my back a lot which is weird, considering I usually can't sleep on my back.

Best moment this week:

Movement: I am feeling little flutters. I can't wait to feel movement and kicks.

Food cravings: Anything sweet.

Belly Button: It's there.

What I miss: The warm weather. We have had some crazy weather and right now it's raining.

What I’m looking forward to this week: Getting everything ready for Aubrey's THIRD birthday party!

16 weeks (and 3 days)

How far along: 16 weeks and 3 days

Next appointment: June 14th

Any new aches/pains: Let's add allergies to the list. Plugged up nose, sneezing ... not fun! I have also had pretty bad headaches this last week. I think it's due to the allergies.

Maternity clothes: I should take this question off because YES I'm wearing them, and I love it!

Gender: Chinese chart says Boy - DR told me this week we will find out at 22 - 24 weeks.

Sleep: Pretty good, I don't get up and pee every night which is really nice. I've been sleeping on my back lately which isn't like me.

Best moment this week: Finally heard the baby's heartbeat. Beautiful. I also bought Aubrey's birthday present and got a steal of a deal on it! Yes!

Movement: I felt some flutters. I can't wait for the kicks, punches and rolls! I really enjoyed that with Aubrey and can't wait to experience it again.

Food cravings: Yesterday I wanted a chocolate shake and fries so bad. Hubby was good and got some :)

Belly Button: It's still looking weird.

What I miss: Headache free days

What I’m looking forward to this week: This week is Conrad's last class for this semester. One step closer to him graduating.

Weekly wisdom: Don't bring your almost 3 year old to the afternoon DR appointment. They will be running late, she will be cranky and so will you :) Lesson learned this week.

I feel so much bigger than I look

Bows bows and more bows

Yesterday Aubrey and I had a great time with Stephanie and Cianna. We made bows while the girls ran around, had fun, they threw fits, and watched some TV. Lots of laughs!!

Here are the bows that I made for Aubrey

This past Thursday was our last MOPS Bible Study of this year until September. I missed the first half of the study so I was able to get the DVD and start at the beginning.

Legacy Living from Day One
How we as moms live today will impact our tomorrows.

It's really made me think. What legacy do I want to leave? What do I want my children to remember? How do I want them to be?

Aubrey is an incredible little girl. I really enjoy reading bible stories with her, trying to use things as an example as to how we should live life and respond to certain situations. I want so badly for her to take these things and use them and grow into a child that loves and obeys God. I wasn't raised in a Christian home, and I want more than anything for my children to be raised that way. When I was growing up we celebrated Christmas and Easter. Christmas Eve Santa came and left gifts. No mention of Jesus. Easter was all about dyeing eggs, Easter baskets, and chocolate that was in the their. Conrad and I decided that our children would know the true meaning of those holidays and we would celebrate what they were. I want to pray with my children before meals and before bed.

I want to be a good wife to Conrad. I want to be an example to my children of what a healthy marriage is.

I want to be a good mother to my children.

I want my children to grow up and love God.

"These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates." Deuteronomy 6:6-9

I want my children to know that I am living for God. He is the God that I serve. I want to lead my children by example.

One thing I have learned throughout going through this study is that this is a process. Motherhood and parenting is a process. No one out there is perfect. There is only one perfect person and that's Jesus.

Old Photo

This isn't that old - but I just love this picture of her!

Maternity clothes: Yep!

Sleep: These last few days have been crazy, not getting up and peeing in the middle of night. I just HAVE to go as soon as I wake up.

Mother's Day

Psalm 139:13: "For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother's womb."

I hope that everyone had a great Mother's Day.

Conrad got me a gift certificate for a prenatal massage, and I cannot WAIT to go get a massage. Ahhh....

First Swim of 2010

Aubrey and I had a great time with Candice and Katiya swimming. This was our first dip in the pool. I'm sure we spend many summer days out there.

Ready to hop in.

Jumping off the step

She just makes my heart melt

Too cute for words!

Old Photo Friday

I've slacked on posting these ...

14 week Mark

How far along: 14 weeks and 1 day

Next appointment: May 17 - I'm pretty excited. We didn't get to hear the heartbeat last appoint but got to see the little one hopefully we can hear the heartbeat.

Any new aches/pains: I've had some headaches that are becoming a pain.

Maternity clothes: Oh yea!! Totally rocking them!

Sleep: I am still getting up and going to the bathroom in the middle of the night, but there have been a few nights where I

haven't gotten up and it's been SO nice!

Best moment this week: A few of them. My dear friend Laurie welcomed her little girl, Piper, on Monday. So fun to get to hold her and think by Thanksgiving I will a little one. My friend Heather announced that she too was expecting a little one. She is due in December. YAY!! For 2010 babies!!

Movement: I keep having this "funny" feeling at night. It could be the little one... but I'm not sure. I can't wait to feel it for sure!!

Food cravings: WATERMELON. Oh how I love it. I told Conrad that this summer there will always be a watermelon in the fridge.

Belly Button: It has started to look different, but not like popping out. Pretty funny.

What I miss: Miss the cool days ... it's starting to get HOT!!

What I’m looking forward to this week: This weekend it Mother's Day :)

Weekly wisdom: Enjoy every moment of every day. I have really seen that was Aubrey this week. I don't know where time goes but she is almost THREE.

Here is my picture from yesterday - 14 weeks!!!

John 16:21: "Whenever a woman is in labor she has pain, because her hour has come; but when she gives birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish because of the joy that a child has been born into the world."

What an absolute joy Aubrey has been. She is growing up so fast. I cannot believe that she will be 3 in exactly one month!! Where does time go??? She is saying the funniest things, the sweetest things, and just the most off the wall things. She is a smart cookie too. I have learned so much in parenting her. As hard as things can be, as trying as it is and as tough as some days are, just her smile melts my heart. Her hug and kiss. Hearing her say I love you... It makes every single second is worth it.

Now being pregnant again I can only wonder what challenges I am going to face. How am I going to handle a newborn and Aubrey on little sleep? Will this little sleep as well as Aubrey did? Am I going to have trouble nursing a second time around? What if this little one has colic? I have come to realize that none of that is going to matter when the baby comes, it's going to bring such great joy to our family that all of those worries will disappear when I get to see him/her.

In being a parent I have learned so much about God's love. He loves me through it all. No matter how many times I fail, He loves me. He is always there with open arms. What a great feeling that is. To have a God that is so big and so great and loves me so much, that there is nothing that can keep me from Him.
