Missing teeth

It sure has been some time since I've blogged... oh that's what I said last time too. Oops. I hopped on to search for the post with Aubrey's first missing tooth , trying to figure out when that was. This blog was their memory book. It was supposed to the bed the thing they could look back at and see those things, and boy oh boy has a lot happened and not a lot of blogging.

Fail.

But,  I hopped on to find the pictures to show Allyson and Aubrey because tonight Allyson lost not one but two of her teeth! They have been wiggly for quite some time and she too was afraid to pull them out or wiggle them. Tonight while at a Thanksgiving celebration, Allyson was showing off her wiggly teeth to family, we happened to wiggle it out. We scurried off to the bathroom to clean her and the tooth up.  She cried and was so embarrassed. She didn't want anyone to look at her tooth or her new smile.

Thankfully at home she more open to showing off her new smile. When we were putting her tooth under her pillow, we wiggled her other tooth out...or mama yanked it out. This time she was more excited!

She polished her tooth because Aubrey said that the Tooth Fairy only accepts shiny white teeth. Back into the room to document this super exciting evening.

Aubrey brought this back as a souvenir for Allyson from her Oregon trip.

Before all the action

Her new toothless smile is just the cutest ever! The grown up teeth have been pushing their way up, so I know she won't have that toothless grin for very long.

She put her hands out like this and I asked her what she was doing. She said, "I'm like what where are her teeth?" This kid cracks me up, guys! She is just hoping for two coins from the Tooth Fairy, we are curious what the Tooth Fairy does when you lose two teeth on the same day. Seriously, this was big talk at bedtime.

So there's a teeny glimpse into life around here.

Never a dull moment.

Oh, well hello there!

I bet this is quite a shock to pop up in your feed? All things what? Who are those kids?

My goodness my kids have grown so much. Time has got to slow down.

So what's been going on?

 Conrad had another back surgery in January and just recently went back to work. We are in the last four weeks of our second year of homeschooling. Aubrey is finishing third grade and will be nine in June, say what?!?!?
Allyson is still chugging along with her TK work and can read... how?!?!
Austin just turned four and is my little love bug. I hope this kid never grows up.
My sister Tess is away at college in Santa Barbara. Kaylee is here. Mom works a ton.

Life is just zipping right on by.

Here's 3/4 of my heart in this picture on Easter.

At the beginning of the week, we helped friends set up a lemonade stand to raise money to help fight childhood cancers. In just a few hours the kids raised just over $100 for Alex's Lemonade Stand. I am so so proud of the kids!

We survived a whole week at VBS. The girls had so much fun playing with friends and learning about more about Jesus. They were so tired at the end of each day, that made for an easy bedtime! Last year, Austin wasn't too happy about dropping the girls off, he did much better this year. Aubrey has one more VBS to go to in July, Allyson has summer ballet classes, and we are looking forward to swim lessons!

We made our first visit to Farmer's Market this week. Aubrey was so excited to get some peaches. We ended up leaving with peaches, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, a jar of honey and some honey sticks. A very successful trip!

Naming our kids {Austin}

When I found out I was pregnant with baby number three, I thought it would be fun to not find out what we what our little bundle of joy was until he/she was born. It took some convincing but Conrad finally agreed.

Let me tell you, even though it was my idea not to find out, it was soooo hard to have that self control to tell the tech that we weren't finding out. Conrad wasn't able to come to any appointments because of his work schedule. So I could have found out and kept it a secret {except I would totally have blown it}

I really thought that we were having another girl. There was a teensy part of me that thought boy. So, since we were waiting until the big day we had to have a boy and a girl name picked out.  We deciced to stick with the A theme. While I was pregnant with Allyson, we decided on Aiden as our boy.

Now backstory,  I LOVED the name Austin. When I was growing up there was a little boy that lived on our street and his name was Austin. {fact: Austin was Evan Ellington's brother. And sadly while looking this up, I found out that Austin Ellingson passed away in 2008 from a drug overdose}  He was the cutest little guy ever. I had mentioned the name to Conrad and he has a cousin Austin that lived in Arizona and he just kinda shot it down. So, my second choice was Aiden. At some point Conrad gave the green light to Austin as our boy name. We decided on James as his middle name, after Conrad.

We really struggled with an A girl name. We decided on Aeryn and looking at it now, I'm glad we didn't get to use it. The spelling... really? But we were really trying to get a name we liked and for it to fit. I like Erin not Aeryn.

So, Mr Austin James came into the world 4 days late and has forever changed our lives, in the best way. Austin totally fits him.

He's my adorable little Austin James.

We took a walk to the campus near our house after dinner last night. My hope was to wear them out before bath and bed. I ended up having such a great time. I saw Aubrey riding her bike while Allyson  pedaled behind her on her 3 wheeler & Austin was happy to hold my hand as we walked. The kids rose their bikes and ran all over. I remember the days when a walk with all 3 around the block seemed impossible and here we were riding somewhere. I watched as they stuck their hands in water and  giggled with excitement as the fountain shot out a new steam of water.
I sat there and soaked in this moment.

The silliness. The laughter. The excitement.

My babies are growing up.  Snapped a picture to hoping to somehow freeze time. I knew that this has to at least be our weekly picture. We raced the sun home, bathed the kids,  did our little nightly routine and I didn't hear a peep out of them!

I hope all my mama friends have a wonderful Mother's Day tomorrow!
